Well, it has finally happened. The newest/greatest release of Firefox is here. This hot new release includes a number of bug fixes, new easy update mechanism, and support for CSS2 and CSS3.
I have been using the pre-release versions for the last couple of weeks, and found it to be faster and more stable.
You may have to wait a little while for your favorite extensions to get updates(Greasemonkey, etc.), but I am sure they will slowly become available again.
Also–one of the coolest things is the canvas support. I will be working on some examples here shortly, so keep an eye out.
Think about the possibilites of Ajax and canvas—pretty cool.

So, as the clock ticks away the seconds until you can try to buy a nice new Xbox 360—
the good people over at Gizmodo have a helpful new tutorial up.
This little gem of advice tells you how to convince your parents/grand parents, to buy the 360 now, and not to wait.
It contains pearls of wisdom such as :
- The XBox 360 is very scarce and therefore valuable
- It can Play Music
- It can play cd’s AND dvd’s
Now if they can only come out with a version of this that would apply to my wife.
Check out the link for the full write up.

Got a little idea to write this up after seeing a question over on Photo Matt. He asked about having a script that could take commands sent by email and execute them remotely, then return the results via email.
So I decided to hack something up in Python, and give it a try. Read the rest of the post to see how I did it.
Or you can cheat and just look at the script itself. Click Here for the script.

This extension is a must have for web developers, or anyone who finds themselves needing IE every once in a while.
This Firefox extension allows you to see a page/site in Internet Explorer, EMBEDDED in a Firefox tab.
This means you don’t need to have multiple browsers open, and you can quickly switch from one browser view to another with a simple click.
So far it is working really well for me, and there are only a few minor annoyances . All in all, this is one of the cooler extensions I have seen.
Caveats: If you are on Firefox 1.0.*, you need to install a second extension to enable IE Tab. If you are already on 1.5, you need only install the main extension.

I decided to do another Gmaps mashup, since I had so much fun with the first one .
This new one is a Google Map, with a bunch of Boulder,Colorado area Bars and Restaurants listed.
The kicker here, is that you can click on a marker, and get their happy hour information.
Whether you want a glass of wine, or just some appetizers, this map helps you find what you are looking for.
Also would be helpful, it you wanted to do a bar tour/walk of shame in Boulder.
